1. No Professional-Client Relationship

Your use of this Site does not create a therapist-client, professional, or clinical relationship between you and Birmingham Counseling Solutions or any of its licensed clinicians.

  • A formal therapist-client relationship is only established after you have completed initial intake documentation, signed our clinical disclosure forms, and attended your first official session.

2. Not a Medical or Emergency Service

The text, graphics, images, and other materials on this Site are for general informational and educational purposes only.

  • Do not use this Site for mental health emergencies.

  • If you are experiencing a clinical crisis, thinking about suicide, or are in danger, please call or text 988(the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest hospital emergency room immediately.

3. Third-Party Portals (SimplePractice)

Our Site links directly to SimplePractice, a secure, external electronic health records portal, to process appointment requests, intake paperwork, telehealth video sessions, and billing.

  • Your use of that client portal is subject to separate clinical agreements and SimplePractice’s personal system terms.

  • We are not responsible for technical outages or software bugs originating on the SimplePractice platform.

4. Permitted Use of Content

All content on this Site is the property of Birmingham Counseling Solutions, LLC and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may read, print, or download pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, or redistribute our written content without explicit written permission.

5. SMS/Text and Electronic Notices

By providing your contact information through our contact or booking links, you acknowledge that standard internet emails and standard text messages are not completely secure against interception. While our SimplePractice system utilizes HIPAA-compliant encryption, any information you transmit through unencrypted standard website forms is sent at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Alabama law, Birmingham Counseling Solutions, LLC and its owners, employees, or contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, this website or its general educational materials.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal actions or disputes arising from your website use must be filed in a court located in Alabama.
